The Platters® are a Diamond, Multiplatinum, Rock & Roll, Grammy, and Vocal Group Hall of Fame Artists founded in 1953, famous for hits like “Only You (and You Alone)”, “The Great Pretender”, and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”. These hits led to the group becoming the first African-American group to achieve international stardom. The group had success with songs like, “Please Mr. Postman”, “Playboy”, and “Don’t Mess with Bill”. Original member, Katherine Anderson Schaffner, is still touring with group. The Classic Drifters are a tribute vocal group to the original The Drifters, and several members of the groupperformed with the late Bill Pinkney, member of The Original Drifters. The Drifters are known for songs like, “Under the Boardwalk”, “This Magic Moment”, and “There Goes My Baby”.
